Today's post is brought to you from atop a hilltop...
The stars of the hilltop are a few trees. A fence line or two. A set of gates. And, of course, the view! We were up here the same day we were down here, as posted yesterday. Our purpose up here is the subject of another post in this week of farm posts, so you will have to wait and see just why we were perched on a hilltop for a good while.
Of course, I found a few things to take pics of whilst we were perched up here. This hilltop isn't the highest hill at the farm. It's high enough for a good view though...
A view to the south/southwest, past a pair of sentinel trees and across a valley...
And a view along a ridge of the farm, out over other hills, to the west...
There's nearly always a breeze up here. And on this visit it was a very chilly wind! Just to remind us that it is NOT spring yet. In fact we were glad to head off the hilltop for our activity :-) More on that later this week.
Here's the gateway. It leads into three paddocks. Two go downwards off the hilltop. The third goes up. Upwards in a steep and rocky way. Even the track is steep. Not your usual sort of farming country in Australia... You need nimble sheep up here, or goats ;-) I'll have to spend some time up there and get some photos for you. When the spring is really here and the chilly breeze is not going to accompany me!
Well, enjoy your view today. Whether it be from atop a hilltop or in a calm, quiet valley. Hope there are no chilly breezes! My view today includes honey and eucalyptus throat soothers plus panadol - the small people have passed on their flu - but I am savouring the rest time that I am having to take.
