A pile and a(nother) post

Here is a pile. Of stones. Gathered together to make room for a crop. The small people thought it was gathered for their enjoyment...

Even the boy (on crutches) climbed the pile. He was quickly told to GET DOWN, would you believe he'd even try whilst on crutches?! Boys. Climbing a pile of rubble/stones on crutches spells even more disaster. Well, that was the adults viewpoint. Apparently not the boy's. If you look closely in the shot below you'll see him at the back of the pile...

The girls were more circumspect, but then they weren't on crutches!

And their jaunt across the paddock from the pile to the post was a little easier. We headed to this chimney on this walk too. Obviously the break isn't holding the boy up too much :-)

The post was at the corner of the paddock we crossed. It's a typical farm post. With barb and netting. Plus a few bits of the mandatory wire to hold it all together. You've got to love a farm fence post, they have such character... I've got dreams plans for some discarded fence posts :-) Once I convince Mr Realistic that they are worth it feasible...

This particular post has a little surprise in the top of it...

A brown bottle! Upside down, filling the hollowed out post. Probably helping to slow the aging of the post. How novel :-) And interesting! And worth a photo...

Now I must get some washing out/in/away! I am sure it is alive! Surely a family can't use/dirty so many clothes... Hmmm. Surely. Ok, catch you soon.

Obviously crossing the countryside on crutches is hot work! Not sure what the littlest one's excuse for losing her tshirt was! Must attest to the high effort in crossing a ploughed/sown paddock wearing gumboots - it's not easy going for anyone, crutches or not :-)
