Oooh, I've found a delightful (new) book... wanna see?
I'm reading it one page at a time. Savouring each new pic and reading every word... It's called 'Reclaiming Style'. It's by a couple who run a business in England called Retrouvius (I nearly typed in retrovirus there - again the science lurks - oops!). And the book is all about using reclaimed/salvaged materials in building and renovating. They make gorgeous, and I mean GORGEOUS, homes!
So, I make a cuppa and settle down to savour the pages. Whilst eating my third scotch finger of the day, yep I'm a rebel all right! This page is so far my favourite...
I love the light in the space. The white, ah the white. Just a little touch of blue (and such a blue it is!). The raw finish; open framework. The lines of the furniture. The natural elements; wooden floor, branches to decorate. Ahhh. So lovely.
And then I look up to take a sip of tea... and look around me ;-) And reality returns! But just for a moment (or a few moments), I'm in this world of white, wood and 'rusticism'. And I'm loving it all. One page at a time. Not wasting any words, just like they're not wasting any materials...
Best bit of all; I've another lovely book to savour when this one's done! This one is about op-shopping, or thrifting. And don't we all love a bit of that around here?! I've a surfeit of books about the place at the mo, must have been a birthday recently :-) There are bonuses apparently!
Now, I'm going back to my tea and book... see you on the other side (of the week)...
I'd love to see the op shop one, too. I love the way you've decorated your house, it is beautiful!
