Remember we recently went to the beach? Well, this is a special post about a boy and his board...
It always brings a smile to my face to see this boy and his board! There's something in the way he holds it...
At this point he can smell the waves, but he's still just got to check out the neighbours boards as they too head down to the waves...
Now he can see the waves. This boy from the bush. Who hardly knows a thing about waves :-) But man, he can still hold that board with attitude!
And he knows that you're meant to survey the waves when you reach the beach. On whatever high point there is, observation at the highest concentration level. To work out the details of the mysterious waves.
And so he stands at attention...
On this particular day the not-so-cheery-for-holidays weather was encouraging those surfer boys out. This is what the boy was observing as he stood with his board...
Ah, to play with the big boys!
But you know what, the little black blur on the left of the pic below is the boy. He didn't leave the shoreline. And given that the very last pic shows the waves/swell in a bit more detail this mother duck was able to breathe easily as her boy stayed close (along with his board!).

Not that I want to hold him back... or discourage him from having a relationship with his board... he's just still one of my small people :-) And, amazingly enough, that very board soon became a hovercraft which meant that the boy was not at all bored! He spent hours ensuring the board stayed just the right level above the sand and at a constant running speed. As you can imagine he slept very well and so did we!
Happy Monday! I hope your week holds a few little excitements and plenty of autumn colour!
